Welcome To Our Crazy Life

We are the Colls and this is about our life with our triplets. My name is Sandi and my husband's name is Kevin. We got married on Feb. 7, 2004 and instantly started trying to have a baby. 5 years, many tears and loads of help later we found out we were having not one, not two, but three babies!

Braedan, Teagan and Sean bounced into our lives on Nov. 12, 2008 and everything has been turned upside down, flipped sideways and scattered about since then. I’m not going to sugar coat it....it wasn’t easy in the beginning. The NICU, late nights, screaming babies, being thousands of miles from our families because we were stationed in Hawaii, exhaustion and then Kevin deploying to Afghanistan for 6 months the day the kids turned 6 months old......not fun.

But now they are getting older and Kevin has been medically separated from the Marine Corps and we've moved to NY to be closer to family. It's great to finally have family around...... especially now that we've hit the TERRIBLE TWOS triple time!

Even though we are close to family now, we are still learning to survive life with triplets.

Where has the month gone?

Wow, has it really been a month since I last posted? Crazy! Things have been insane around here since we got our furniture and car delivered! Not too many damages to report on the furnishings...just 2 bookcases and a few dishes. The car came with a dent in the hood and a scrape on a light, but the shippers covered it all and we've gone about our business. We've been here in NY for almost 2 months now and can say that we actually like it. Sure, it's cold out, but we've gotten used to it for the most part. I'm not saying we love the cold (completely the opposite) but we can handle it! I think we just love all the options of places to go and things to see here!

We joined the National Museum Of Play (pictures in the last post) and also found a fun place called Kango around here. It's a cute place where they have tons of kid toys, climbers, skating rink and food area. The kids REALLY enjoyed playing there so we joined them as well! Aunt Danielle was visiting when we found the place and helped us explore the entire place!

Valentines Day was fun! The kids had decorated donuts and an edible arrangement that Grandma and Grandpa Roberts sent while mom made Strawberry and Champagne Cupcakes for Grandpop, LeighLeigh, Aunt Sam and Alex!

One of our new favorite things is having family over for dinner. The kids get so excited to see Grandpop and Leigh Leigh and of course Aunt Sam and Alex. Lately, everyone has been coming to our house for Sunday dinner. I'm not the best cook in the world, so I'm glad nobody has boycotted the dinners....yet. While here the kids act all crazy, we play with the Kinect and just enjoy being around each other!

Last but not least, I made some cupcakes while Danielle was visiting. I made my FAVORITE Vanilla Bean cupcake with Vanilla Bean Buttercream frosting and also went out on a limb and made Irish Car Bomb cupcakes - A chocolate cupcake infused with  Guinness, filled with a Baileys ganache and topped with a Baileys Irish Whisky Buttercream!

I also started making baby/toddler leg warmers. They keep Teagan's legs warm and make diaper changing a breeze - no taking pants off!

And to end things....HAPPY ANNIVERSARY (Feb 7th) Kevin! It's been an interesting and fun 7 years so far!
