Welcome To Our Crazy Life

We are the Colls and this is about our life with our triplets. My name is Sandi and my husband's name is Kevin. We got married on Feb. 7, 2004 and instantly started trying to have a baby. 5 years, many tears and loads of help later we found out we were having not one, not two, but three babies!

Braedan, Teagan and Sean bounced into our lives on Nov. 12, 2008 and everything has been turned upside down, flipped sideways and scattered about since then. I’m not going to sugar coat it....it wasn’t easy in the beginning. The NICU, late nights, screaming babies, being thousands of miles from our families because we were stationed in Hawaii, exhaustion and then Kevin deploying to Afghanistan for 6 months the day the kids turned 6 months old......not fun.

But now they are getting older and Kevin has been medically separated from the Marine Corps and we've moved to NY to be closer to family. It's great to finally have family around...... especially now that we've hit the TERRIBLE TWOS triple time!

Even though we are close to family now, we are still learning to survive life with triplets.

The rest of our week

With all the moving, getting a house and checking out of base craziness this week, we still had time to have lots of fun as a family. On Sunday we went to our favorite spot to feed the ducks. We moved to a different location at the pond and the the kids had a blast running in the bigger field. When we ran out of "duck food" we found ourselves taking a hike that was filled with finding huge sticks, massive leaves and a hill filled with flowers! I'm not sure what their favorite part was, but it might have been when they gathered rocks and threw them off a bridge into a creek!

We are going to miss this place!

On Thursday we got the kid's school pictures back. Man, they are cute. Braedan did not like the photographer. She did all she could to get him to smile, but he was not having it at all. Sean didn't like her too much either. In the end, he did smile, but that was after Kevin jumped on a couch behind the camera to get Sean laughing. Teagan was a ham! She smiled and giggled and had a blast on her "photo shoot!"

On Saturday, we went to our NICU's Christmas Party/ Reunion. It was great seeing some of the nurses and Drs that helped us through the grueling NICU experience again. There were a lot of people there including some elves and Santa. Since the babies were freaked out by Santa last year, we put pictures of Santa all over the house to prepare them for their picture with him this year. I think we did a good job...maybe too good of a job. When it was their turn to sit with the big guy they were SUPER serious about it! Before and after the picture they were cheering on Santa, but to sit on his lap - serious business!
All dressed up for the party(of course she had to wear her "bracelets")

We took them to the spot we sat at every night when I lived in the hospital for a month. Kevin would bring me here to watch the planes before bed each night.

Right after this picture he rang the Emergency Alarm

Meeting Santa was a serious deal this year

There were a lot of people there!

Meeting Indiana Jones...the dog

Sean with Amy. Amy was Sean's NICU nurse. We can honestly say that she is by far the best person they have in the NICU. Amy was always honest with us and made sure we were well informed of what was happening with the kids. Without Amy, the NICU experience would have been unbearable. We love you Amy and can't thank you enough for the care you gave the kids while in the NICU and all of the continued support you've given us since we came home. We will miss seeing your smiling face!

Ahh, too big for the stroller. They wanted to walk on their own. They really are growing up!

The view of downtown Honolulu/Waikiki from the spot Kevin and I went to nightly. It's pretty during the day, but amazing at night!
They couldn't wait to open their presents from the NICU Santa

This is the view we have EVERY day that we leave base. It's breathtaking. We will miss this for sure. (Can you see the rain coming in?)
