Ahhh, the joys of Halloween! All month long the kids have been having fun playing with the Halloween decorations, their costumes and making Jack-O-Lanterns. Finally the big night arrived and they had such a great time. We let them have a long nap in the afternoon and then got them up for a quick dinner and then off to gather the goodies. Teagan sat still and let me do pigtails in her hair for the first time ever! She looked so stinkin cute! Once everyone was dressed we handed out their pumpkin buckets and then headed out for their first time trick-or-treating! The first stop was at our next door neighbors house and they loaded the babies up (haha!) We took them out for a little over an hour and by then they were tired of walking. Up until their feet started hurting though, they had fun running house to house and getting goodies. Teagan would take 1 piece of candy for each of the boys and one for herself and gently put them in their buckets. As we left each house though, they would each say, "TANK TOO!!!"
Once we got home we handed out candy to those who stopped by our house. Teagan even helped by giving other kids 1 piece (guess the #1 was her number for the night!) At one point they snuck inside and raided their own buckets and came back out with chocolate all over their faces. Oh well, you're only a kid once! (However, they were WIDE awake until 1045pm!!!)
Kevin really took his pumpkin carving to the next level this year. In earlier posts I showed some of his pumpkins from earlier in the month, but the day before Halloween, Kevin went out and got more pumpkins to try etching them. I think he did FANTASTIC!
They LOVED looking at the pumpkins when we would light them up. They would sit there on the bench and talk to them all night!
At school the kids got to bring in their own pumpkin and paint it. According to their teacher they had a lot of fun. This one is Braedans!
Teagan's painted pumpkin!
Sean's painted pumpkin!
On Halloween while the kids napped and Kevin etched his final pumpkins I got really bored. So to combat that I took to the kitchen and made Halloween decorated cupcakes! They were all Devil's Food Cake (of course) and tasted delish!
The mummy! I made several of these each with different colored eyes!
And here is a spooky spider cupcake!!! I really liked these!
